It's not classic rock, but don't get too excited. The original definition of classic rock was "rock that was older than 20 years" however this was just 20 years ago. "Classic rock" has been defined as "rock that was popular in the 1960s and WOW TBC Classic Gold 1970s, with a little bit of the 1980s". Classic rock has a very distinctive sound, the sound of Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, etc. Nirvana and Metallica do not possess that sound. Although, it's not all of Metallica I'm guessing Load and Reload kind of have some of that.

My favorite classic rock station has started adding music from the 90s , including alternative and grunge and a tiny bit of mainstream metal. However, when they did this they ditched the "classic rock" title and instead began using the term "rock" because this genre doesn't fit their sound no longer (even while it's 85percent classic rock).
