Klondike is a game of patience (solitaire card game). Klondike is often referred to as patience or solitaire, as it is one of the most well-known of the patience games.
Klondike Solitaire Rules
Seven heaps of cards are set from left to right after shuffling a conventional 52-card deck (without Jokers). Each pile starts with one card that has been turned upside down. Each pile has one more card than the one before it, from left to right. The first and left-most pile has a single upturned card, the second pile has two (one downturned, one upturned), the third pile has three (two downturned, one upturned), and so on until the seventh pile has seven cards (six downturned, one upturned). At the start of each game, the heaps should resemble the illustration to the right.
The four foundations (light rectangles in the upper right of the illustration) are built up by suit from Ace to King, and the tableau piles can be built down by alternate colours, and partial or entire piles can be shifted if they are built down by alternate colours as well. Any empty heaps, or a pile of cards, can be filled with a King. The goal of the game is to build a stack of cards with the same suit starting with two and finishing with King. Once that is done, the player must relocate this to a foundation where the Ace of that suit has already been set. The player will have "completed" that suit after they have done so, with the ultimate goal being to finish all suits, at which point the player will have won. The rest of the deck might be dealt in a variety of ways:
Only turning one card at a time, but no restriction on how many times you may go through the deck.
Turning three cards to the waste at once with no limit on passes through the deck, but allowing the player to switch once to a single pass through the deck one card at a time; however, after that single pass, the player cannot return to turning three cards at a time and can no longer turn over cards from the waste.
