BECKY AND OLIVER: REAL BRIDE STORY

We got married on July 30th, 2021 at Oliver's hometown of Dorking in Surrey.

We had a Catholic wedding at St Joseph's Church, and we included Quaker practices to reflect the religious background of both our families. We held our reception between the leafy vineyards of Denbies Wine Estate.

We've known one another for 16 years once we lived within the same corridor at University. Oliver proposed following a fancy dinner along with a romantic walk in Venice in 2019, I was crossing a bridge, and that he got recorded on one knee. As we both work within the NHS it's been a significantly tough time, for all of us and all couples seeking married. We booked our venue as well as bought the gown in January 2020 but our planned date was ultimately postponed twice. We could have experienced a smaller wedding, but we now have large extended families, and we are grateful we did postpone until after the majority of the restrictions were lifted. It was this type of treat to determine everyone together dancing and smiling.

We always knew we wanted a church along with a big reception to support our large families, and I've always loved the brightness and happiness of sunflowers. With sunflowers like a central feature, anything else fell into place around them! Here

I had originally thought I wanted a figure-hugging dress, like those I had seen my sister and friend’s married in. I tried on a few styles, so when I tried around the wedding dresses with sleeves I fell deeply in love with its dramatic and straightforward elegance.

After 1.5 years of preparation, everything transpired without a hitch; and when there were any problems we didn't notice them! The Church and Denbies were super organized and our families and friends and wedding party were so helpful throughout the planning and around the day. A lot was going on, I'm sure I've forgotten a lot of it. The beautiful Haysden String Quartet would be a wonderful memory and dancing the whole night with the stupendous band Empire. My favorite bit should have been the 2 surprise performances from my cousins who acted out a sketch and sang a reworded song from my embarrassing teenage life complete with mortifying photos!

Although some of our family and friends weren't in a position to join us because of travel restrictions it was this type of treat to possess so many of our family members together and find out their beaming faces. We couldn't have dreamed that your day would be as happy and fun as it had been and that we'll cherish these memories forever.
