Yves Saint Laurent (YSL):
YSL has been in the perfume industry since the 1960s with their debut fragrance “Y” (not to be confused with a recent best-selling Y – Pour Homme Collection), composed by perfumer Jean Amic in 1964. Few years later, they launched a scent of classical “oriental masculinity” that reshaped for a modern woman – a new boundary-pushing perfume, called Opium, composed by Jean Amic and Jean-Louis Sieuzac. The first YSL perfume for men was simply named “Pour Homme” in 1971.

In the early 21th Century, the house launched a fragrance to represent a modern man with YSL – l’Homme in 2006 with a group of perfumers such as Dominique Ropion and Anne Flipo. The success of the perfume gave roots to the legendary “La Nuit de l’Homme” in 2009 that remains still one of the best-selling masculine fragrances of YSL until this day! The modern, Dominique Ropion’s creation Y perfume for men was launched in 2017 as EDT.
