Candace Parker is the first woman to appear on the cover of NBA 2K. Candace Parker has become the first WNBA player to be featured on the cover of an NBA 2K game. The cover of the WNBA 25th anniversary Special Edition of NBA 2K22 features the Chicago Sky forward Candace Parker she is a six-time WNBA All-Star, two-time WNBA M MVP and the 2016 WNBA Finals MVP.
"I grew up a video game fanatic, this is what I was, to the point where my brothers would give me a fake controller whenever I was younger where I think I was playing when I didn't," Parker tells ESPN. "All I wanted to do was be just like them. As a young person you imagine having your own shoe and playing a video game. Those are an athlete as a kid's dreams. To be able to be a part of that, I don't put it on the back of my head."
Three years ago when the WNBA was first introduced to 2K with NBA 2K20. It's not surprising that a female player has taken this long to be featured on the cover. This is especially true given that 2K Sports frequently releases multiple versions of the game that features different players. For instance, 2K21 featured Damian Lillard on consoles of the last generation Buy NBA 2K MT Coins, and Zion Williamson on Series X and PS5 versions. There was also an exclusive "Mamba Forever" edition, in honour of Kobe Bryant.
