Music has been a part of humanity's existence since the beginning of time. From Christianity to Islam, music has gone through countless changes. The result is a history filled with numerous musicians and songs. This article will be exploring eight aspects by the time it is done: music created by God, pre-Christian and Islamic music, medieval times, baroque and classical musics, Romanticism and modernism musics, popular music in America before 1920s to 1940s; popular music from 1960-present day; local traditions around the world which impact on history of western music; theoretical approaches such as ethnomusicology and historical theory.The article will consist of various musical examples to help understand these points better. The information may be in the form of a list or a chart. Music will be arranged in order of creation. It will also include one or more theories in each section. The beginning of music is in the existence of all things. Music exists when there is light, but when light no longer exists, then no music will be created. God started making music at the beginning of time. The first piece of music was "The humming" which consists of just an "I", "U", and "M". God made everything, but did not make noise. After a while, He decided to make some noise and thus created sound waves on water with a musical instrument called a "flute". The instrument had six holes that a person could put their tongue into and blow into them to create notes on different pitches that sound pleasant to human ears. This is how music started. The first piece of music that was made by God was called "lullaby". It was played for His baby son to soothe him to sleep. The notes were found by studying the Bible and trying to figure out what song God must have sung. This gave rise to the first piece of music, which is still being sung today by mothers around the world to their children. It has been used widely in 20th century popular culture as well as being featured in numerous films including "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1", "The Graduate", "Antz", "Mr. & Mrs. Iyer" and many more. This period of music includes pre-Islamic times, Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Music during this time was based mainly on improvisation, which was performed by the music practitioners themselves.
